The Sewing Group

In October 2007, we finally started our long-planned sewing group project. Women from the area meet every Tuesday at Mayana Lodge to do some work and learn new techniques from an experienced sewer.

So far, they have been sewing for their own families or for N’kwazi Lodge – recently, they have been sewing little bags for our Christmas party with over eight hundred children.

In the long run, we are planned to produce a surplus that the women can sell to improve their income.
